In the 1980s, it was a mixture, just like today. More women worked outside the home than in the 1960s-1970s, part-time or full time. Men usually worked full time, but in many areas, factories and mills closed which left men unemployed. Other families had 1 or both parents working. And other families had neither parent working.

It starts in the late 80s and ends in early 90s
Both of those are correct spellings. Formally, it is 1980s but many people spell it as 80s because it is shorter and faster to write. We usually say 80s when we are talking about the previous 80s. For example, when it is 2190, we will call the 2180s the 80s and in the year 1490, they also called the 1480s the 80s. I hope this helps you.

In the 70s gaming was just lines and very bulky hardware. In the 80s you got games that where full on 2d side scrolling games with backbone and story. Some of the 80s consoles were smaller than ours today. Today we have full 3d open world games with sandbox like effects.
