No. Neanderthals died out some 25,000 years before the time of Moses.

Another answer:

"Cave men" are an invention of evolution; a religion of its own, which professes its own set of "beliefs" and "miracles" for those who believe and place their trust in it.

According to The Bible... the first two people "lived in a Garden," not a cave.

Since then, however, after they were introduced to "sin" [disobedience to the Creator's laws - see I John 3:4]... deciding for themselves what's good and evil, people went their own ways, doing what they thought best in their own minds and hearts.

"There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death." (Prov.14:12 NLT New Living Translation)

There have always been some people who have lived in caves throughout the generations of man. There are people, today, in this modern computerized world who live in caves... while elsewhere in the world, others live in mansions, in hovels and utter poverty, in residential districts of various types of societies, etc..

Bible prophecy even reveals that when Jesus Christ returns to the earth... all of mankind will seek out caves in which to hide from Him:

"...The sun became as dark as black cloth, and the moon became as red as blood. Then the stars of the sky fell to earth... and the sky was rolled up like a scroll and taken away. And all of the mountains and all of the islands disappeared. Then the kings of the earth, the rulers, the generals, the wealthy people, the people with great power, and every slave and every free person - ALL HID THEMSELVES in the CAVES and among the rocks of the mountains. And they cried to the mountains and the rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the Great Day of their wrath has come, and who will be able to survive?'" (Rev.6:12-17 NLT)

That an era or two or three or however many people might speculate about of "developing ape-like men" living exclusively in caves before they finally advanced to other forms of creatures and abodes is not biblical. God made man complete on the sixth day of creation [in the IMAGE OF HIMSELF... not in the image of apes]. The first two people, male and female, spoke and were intelligent... and God gave them a place to live -- even though they screwed it up and were eventually evicted.

As for Moses' generation; it's very probable that there were people in the world who were living in caves somewhere in the world... just as there are some who do so, today.
