Henry died while fighting a fire and was reported officially to have died from asphyxiation caused by a fire. However, he was also found to have blows to the head and on that situation fighting a fire, did not explain the bruises discovered on the back of his head. Maybe he did kill him but there is something we could consider. It was 1944 when Henry died. It was not 1888 when the police fail to catch the ripper lacking knowledge and I am sure the cops were not dumb.

I saw a photo of henry lying dead. His head was the only part that got burned. The area around him was not burned. Why the investigation did not get Ed Gain to trial? Maybe the police had a good answer. With the picture I can come to two conclusions. Henry got hit by a fallen branch thus falling forward were his head was burned and received the blows. Ed lost him for a time and founding later he moved the corpse to examine to see if he was dead.

On the other hand, he might have killed him but I really believe the police had found sufficient evidence that Ed did not kill Henry. His death was something considered not good for writing too much about it as you will see in every Ed Gain article. I always say that sometimes documents lead the way in knowing or deducing the truth, something we don't have about Henry. How might read that Ed confessed to killing him. That is not true.

How did Edward Gein kill his dad?

George Gein, father of Ed Gein, died of natural causes on April 1, 1940. Henry Gein, brother to Ed, died in a brush fire on the Gein's isolated farm on May 16, 1944 and Gein's mother Augusta died on December 29, 1945, also of natural causes. As far as anyone can tell, Gein did not commit his first murder until November 16, 1957. Bernice Worden, aged 58 and a widow, disappeared from her hardware store. Prior to her disappearance, Gein had been asking about her which of course caused suspicions in local law enforcement.
