The state of the country under the Articles of Confederation
union!
Before our current Constitution, there was the Articles of Confederation between the various states. For a variety of reasons, the Articles of Conferation proved unsatisfactory, and so a Convention was convened to debate the formation of a "a more perfect union" through a new Constitution.

Not many leaders lost faith in the Articles of Confederation. The colonies won the American Revolution because they had a better reason to win. So if they did win, they wanted to form a more perfect union which they had to start somewhere or else they would go no where. So that's why not a lot of leaders lost faith.
Set up a stronger government than they had under the articles of confederation. Thats one Example!
The phrase referring to a more perfect union in the Preamble to the United States Constitution is often thought to be referencing to the Articles of Confederation. In this view, the Articles of Confederation are a starting point of sorts for the framework of a new country.
This type of government would be called a Confederation. The early United States under the Articles of Confederation and before the Ratification of the Constitution of 1787, operated this way. A perfect modern parallel would be the European Union.
this is referring to the connections between the states. the Framers wanted to form a country where the states worked together. the previous government, the articles of confederation, gave all the states far to much power. new york and new jersey almost went to war with each other over the selling price of apples. the Framers wanted to stop things like this from happening so they made a government where the states and the central government had more balanced powers. look up "Federalism" for more on that.
The Perfect General happened in 1991.
The Perfect General was created in 1991.
1- The south did not properly seceed. To seceed, it must be put through ALL of the senate. They did not do that. 2- The Articles of Confederation. Abraham Lincoln stated that the Constitution was a more perfect union than the earlier Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union, but that the Articles had established the permanence of the Union in a binding contract. He called any secession "legally void". 3- The definition of democracy itself. To be in a democracy, you must work together. The south refused to give an inch, thus they left. That was not democracy, it was just giving up on a system because you refuse to compramise. Hope that helps!
