The Bible says that, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline". So, God did not give a Spirit of fear. We have seen through the life of Moses, Joshua, Deborah, Samson, Daniel, etc. They have many times of trial and temptation and a time that seems hopeless, but they did not give it up. They have courage and they march forward. God give them victory always.
This phrase comes from 2 Timothy 1:7 in The Bible, where it means that God provides us with strength, love, and a sound mind, rather than fear. It is a reminder to trust in God's power and not be overcome by fear.
2nd Timothy 1:7

To worship God in spirit and truth we need to worship God from the heart and to worship Him according to the truth of His Word in The Bible. God is a Spirit, therefore we need to worship Him as a Spirit, and not as some carved image. This is why Jesus taught us that even our thoughts can cause us to sin, because everything begins in the mind. So our thoughts needs to be captivated by the Love of Christ.
Pope Leo X is attributed with saying, "God has given us the papacy, let us enjoy it." This quote is often used to highlight the luxurious and extravagant lifestyle of the papacy during the Renaissance period.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God has not given any human being to protect us but he has given us his holy spirit. If we pray for it, it will be given to us. When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in that person. That person's body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You should honor your body as the Holy Spirit dwells there. He was given to you by God when you accepted His Son Jesus. Now your body belongs to God. He created it and He will renew it when you are resurrected. This is one of the reasons we obey God because we belong to Him , body, soul, and spirit. Why were we given the Holy Spirit to dwell within us? To be a helper to us. He comforts us in times of trouble. He helps us in our prayers to God. He convicts us if we sin and leads us back to God. He illuminates the Holy Word to us as we read and He teaches us. He witnesses to us that we are the children of God. And He does much more for us than we can imagine.
God is the Father of our spirit.
"Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, IS GOD; WHO HATH SEALED US, and given the earnest OF THE SPIRIT in our hearts." (II Cor.1:21-22)"...YE WERE SEALED WITH THAT HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of His glory." (Eph.1:13-14)
God do not instruct people, it is the spirit within that receives instructions that is then relayed to man. "..the Lord said, my spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh.(Genesis 6v3). Then again it is clearly stated that, "..the spirit of man which is in him, the things of God knoweth no man, but the spirit of God. Moreover, those who have had an "Intervention", "have received the spirit of God, that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (1Cor.2v11-12).
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7This is a very important verse. Christians are not to have ANY fears except to fear the Lord. He has given us the Holy Spirit which is His Spirit of POWER, LOVE and a SOUND MIND. A sound mind is one that is clear, focussed on God and truth, not muddied up, not distracted. We get clarity from the Holy Spirit. If we live in fear, or entertain any type of fear, that is evidence that we are not trusting God. We must lay our fears at His feet and leave them there. Doing this will fill us with the power of God to become more like Him. This is a promise and if we stand on it and lay our fears down, we discover the power of Christ in our lives and we are filled with love and have a sound mind, or a mind that functions well.Bible "SOUND MIND" MindsSOUND MIND: A.
