When a person accepts Jesus Christ as their personal Savior the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in that person. That person's body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. You should honor your body as the Holy Spirit dwells there. He was given to you by God when you accepted His Son Jesus. Now your body belongs to God. He created it and He will renew it when you are resurrected. This is one of the reasons we obey God because we belong to Him , body, soul, and spirit.
Why were we given the Holy Spirit to dwell within us? To be a helper to us. He comforts us in times of trouble. He helps us in our prayers to God. He convicts us if we sin and leads us back to God. He illuminates the Holy Word to us as we read and He teaches us. He witnesses to us that we are the children of God. And He does much more for us than we can imagine.
A:The Bible never mentions the Holy Spirit in conjunction with Abraham. As the Book of Genesis was written in the Jewish milieu and Jews do not believe in the Christian Holy Spirit, we should safely assume he nver received the Holy Spirit.
