This is a horriblly formed question. But I'll say what I think you mean. Jack Black formed Tenacious D with fellow rock-maker Kyle Gass. They formed the most badass band ever to exist. It is said that at one concert performance, the stadium's dome roof ripped open, and the light from Heaven shined down on them, blessing them with extraordinary rockness. No one survived that concert.

Excuse the previous answer, dunno how it was still stayed there. Basically, Tenacious D are the best band in some people's eyes because the music they create takes the audience on an emotional rollercoaster. It links them to the reality of this world. It is pure genuine rock that is not to good and not too bad. In sincere basic language, that's the reason why.Ok, I don't know who voted that band #1 but it was a previous countdown, sorry. I do not personally like their music and it is no longer the #1 rock band at all. Sorry, again.no metallica is the greatest rock band in history period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
