yeah
the Matthew was the name of Cabot's boat when he went to Newfoundland
Yes he did, a little over 500 years ago. 1498 to be a bit more exact.
The names of his crew members are unknown because his voyage happened so long ago and there are probably not any documents surving today that tell the names of his crew members.
Newfoundland was claimed by the British ( England ) but in 1949 we joined the rest of Canada in confederation. John Cabot "discovered" our province a little over 500 years ago. Although the Beothuk Indians were already here before that.
John Cabot sailed for the New World for the second time on May 20, 1498, with five ships. One ship was forced to turn back. It is generally believed that nothing was ever heard from the other four ships, but some say there is evidence that Cabot did, in fact, return to England. We may never know, because record-keeping five hundred years ago was poor compared with today's standards.
John is 12, and Tim is eight. Four years ago they would've been eight and four.
The NGC 514 galaxy is a spiral galaxy 100 million light-years (redshift of 0.008) from Earth in the Pisces constellation, and is 100,000 light-years (the same size as the Milky Way) in diameter, and contains about 100 billion stars (same number of stars as the Milky Way). It emitted its light 100 million years ago, when the universe was 13,600 million years old.
John Cabot is famous for finding Newfoundland about 511 years ago. Cabots voyage was a step into the unknown abroad an oak-toughened caravel. A brave, little ship of a classic British design. After 53 day travelling at sea, the ship made land. It was an unexpected far east that was found on the voyage. The far East fo the Western World. Cabot's voyage marked the start of the globe-spanning British Empire and made possible, and then inevitable, the European settlement of North America. The last voyage John Cabot went on was his second one and he went with 4 other boats and was never seen again. And neither were the ships... a lot of lives were lost.
he died about 30 years ago
because it was such a long time ago but he was approximately born in c.1450 and died ( disappeared ) approximately in 1498
Food mostly. Sailors of that period relied on a diet largely made of salted fish, dried fruits, rice, almonds, and a type of bread which could keep for long periods of time called sea biscuits or hardtack.
The nexus has disbanded about 2 years ago.
