No he didn't. Nor did he dive in the ocean after a barrel of whiskey. Nor was he attacked by a Giant Octopus. It's a great Tall Tale and promotional device for an excellent triple distilled liquor but that's it. The real man did create an excellent distillery in Ireland and was a great man who loved his workers and shared spirits with them. Even now 2 barrel men are shown on each label. I'm sorry if I ruined anything for anyone. If I did then I have another quick note, Santa, the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy are all made up as well. I love it when people find truth in obvious fiction though. It's proof that we are still a little innocent! Cheers!!!
