John the Baptist did, he baptized the Lord, which is why most christians follow the Lord in baptism which is showing a type, meaning we put off the old to become new again. This is only inward though. Most christians, including me, believe in baptism byl immersion since The Bible clearly states" they when down into the water together".
No
Nobody.
john is the only one who can baptize at that time so jesus chose him to baptize him
Actually nobody did baptize John the Baptist.
He baptized into water, but the one coming after him (Jesus) would baptize into the Holy Spirit.
John the Baptist said, "I baptize you with water, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
John's statement when he baptized Jesus was, "I baptize you with water, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
john was only a human, so he could only bless you with mortal things. but Jesus, however, can bless you with immortal things.
Matthew 3:11 - "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." [NKJV] (Also Luke 3:16)
