NO! children didn't go on gold rushes
While it is true that, in most cases, the children stayed back on the farms or in the cities with their mother, sometimes entire families (including children) went to the goldfields. Sometimes these children would assist their parents with panning and other simple tasks; just as often, they were left to run wild.
