Rare Earth (the group) started recording with Motown's Rock division aptly named Rare Earth Records.

The first title was 'An Introduction to Rare Earth Artists" on label numbers RS505-509. Love Sculpture, Pretty Things, Rare Earth, Rustix, and the Messengers. This label started in Aug 1969.

The label was owned by Motown and distributed by Motown.
