The Russian Empire's first Olympics was the 1900 Games in Paris. Four athletes were entered in two sports (fencing, equestrian) and they won no medals. Russia also competed in the 1908 and 1912 Games. After the Russian Revolution in 1917 and the subsequent creation of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, Russians would not compete in another Olympics until 1952. Russians competed under the USSR flag between 1952-1988. Upon the fall of the Soviet Union, the first Olympics that Russia competed in as a country was the 1994 Winter Games in Lillehammer.
Dressage made its debut in the 1900 summer Olympics in Paris, France. It then disappeared until 1912 but has featured in the Olympics ever since, although up until the 1952 games only military officers were aloud to compete.

396 BC Cynisca of Sparta was permitted to enter her horses in the Olympics. Back then it was the owner of the horses not the riders that were awarded with victory in the Olympics. Cynisca won the 4 horse chariot race. In a bit of irony women were not allowed to watch the Olympics and she most likely never even witnessed her win. PCH- 1912
Since today: Germany Up until today: Russia
The Ancient Olympics stopped roughly 2500 years ago and the modern Olympics did not start until the late 1800s. Therefore there were no Olympics in 1014 and thus no location for them. If you meant to ask where the 2014 Winter Olympics would be, that would be Sochi, Russia.
There were no women's events in the 1896 Olympic Games because women were not allowed to compete. Women were first allowed to compete in the Olympics starting with the 1900 Games and women's athletics (Track and Field) did not begin until the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam. The first woman to win the 100 meter dash in the Olympics was Elizabeth Robinson of the United States in a time of 12.2 seconds.
Some interesting facts about Olympic swimming are that swimming wasn't added to the Olympics until 1908 and only men were allowed to participate. It wasn't until 1912 that women were allowed to compete
The People's Republic of China first competed at the 1952 Summer Games in Helsinki when they sent one athlete, a swimmer named Wu Chuanyu, to the Games. In the past Russia has always seemed to dominate the Olympics, until this year when they came out with only 3 gold medals. The president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev shockingly said that "if those responsible for preparing the athletes don't resign he will make them". Why do you think, since Russia has moved towards a capitalist country has their Olympic medal count gone down?
