Only 2? Well, the Romans and Babylonians both succeeded in destroying the 1st and 2nd original Temples. There were many more than 2 civiliations that gravely threatened the ancient jews. The ancient Romans built aqueducts, roads, buildings, and many other structures that were built so well, they are still standing today. Some famous things the Romans are famous for building is the Colosseum, and the Pantheon.
the gods balanced out life and death for the Romans
Romans built many temples to their gods and goddesses. Some Romans kept small statues of gods in their houses as well.
The ancient Romans consumed a fairly well rounded diet. The foods that they did not eat were foods such as tomatoes, yams, and potatoes. These were New World foods and the Romans never knew about them.
The ancient Romans did not meet for worship in the way we do today. Yes, they had temples, but those temples were used for the major religious festivals of the god to whom they were dedicated. They were also used for other purposes as well, such as the treasury, the storage of wills, the storage of civil papers, etc. Most Romans made offerings in their own homes. Every house had an altar or a nitch where a statue of the household god (s) stood and the head of the family would offer a sacrifice to them.
Poor people were actually treated quite well, as compared with other ancient cultures. They received a measure of oil and grain which supplemented their food intake, they had the free entertainment, on occasion, generally on the anniversary of one of the emperor's achievements, they received a cash grant, and at the end of public events in the Colosseum, tokens were thrown out to the poor which could be redeemed for various luxury items, such as a slave, clothing, cash, furniture, etc.
Wheat and vegetables as well as grapes and olives.
Well, the ancient city-state of Corinth was one of the Greek city-states, so the inhabitants of the city followed the Greek mythology. There were several different temples inside the city, perhaps the most famous is the temple of Aphrodite. Later on, after the Romans took over, the city was also home to Christians, Jews, and Romans, who followed Roman mythology.
I think that it is temples (well at least it fits on my cross-word)
