I have a bichon frise pure bread she is sooo cute! Her name is Rosie, and she's six years old. She REALY goes crazy. My mom and i call it her "bath fit". I love her VERY much!

Susan Lucci, the famous soap star, has a Bichon Frise. You may have seen her on the Martha Stewart Apprentice show last week. The little, white fluff ball dog is a Bichon Frise. This breed has become widely popular in the last decade. The Bichon Frise won "Best in Show" at the Westminster Dog show a few years ago. In the past this breed was also used as circus dogs because they can jump very high. The Bichon Frise breed is a companion dog. They are cheerful and affectionate by nature. They do not shed, which is wonderful. However, you have to brush them on a daily basis or their hair will mat. They have curly white to apricot colored hair that is soft. They range from 7-15 pounds in weight. The Bichon Frise usually lives to at least 18 years in age, so they will be around with you for a long time. The Bichon Frise is a house dog. They require little exercise. Running around the house and playing tug-of-war often suffice. However, they are always up for a walk. The Bichon Frise breed tends to have bad knees and develop cataracts. I have a Bichon Frise that is 13 years old. She has bad knees, but still moves around quite well. In fact, most people think she is a puppy because she is small and perky. She has had knee surgery in the past.
Should I get a Bishon Frise?
YES YES YES! Bichon's are awesome and really cute!AND....they don't shed!!! So no fur to clean up and no fur gets on your clothes when you hold them! Plus, they are hypoallergenic which means people who are allergic to dogs are not allergic to Bichons.If you end up getting a Bichon Frise, I highly suggest you give your Bichon the "puppy cut" when groomed. That what my Bichon has. It is the cutest hairstyle (in my opinion). I think it's much better than the other style with lots of fur. It's cuter, easier for the dog to see, doesn't get tangled or matted as much, etc. But however you cut your Bichon's hair is up to you. I just suggest the "puppy cut".Bichon's are great dogs. I love my Bichon Frise. She is amazing. The best dog in the world. She is a loving, caring, sweet, protecting dog.I really suggest you get a Bichon Frise.You won't regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PS- if your Bichon Frise has "tear stains", which are black stains under their eyes or around their mouths, then use the product called Angel Eyes. You can look it up and order online at this website:http://www.angelseyesonline.com/It's a great product. It works fantastically. I used it on my Bichon Frise and there are no more tear stains! I highly suggest it. It's probably one of the best tear stain removers out there.

The Bichon is a fluffy, little white dog that loves human company. It has an independent spirit, is intelligent, affectionate, bold and lively. This charming, gentle dog is not a yapper. It has a self-assured, happy temperament that is easy to live with. These bright little dogs are easy to train and just plain old love everyone. They need people to be happy. They are naturally sociable and are happiest when they are part of a family that takes them everywhere. This sociable trait also means that they are fine in the company of other dogs & pets and are excellent with children. Used as watchdogs and to perform tricks, this breed is competitive and obedient. Like a lot of smaller breeds, the Bichon may be difficult to housebreak. The Bichon Frise needs rules to follow, and limits to what they are and are not allowed to do. They also need a daily pack walk. Do not allow this little dog to develop Small Dog Syndrome, a human induced behavior, where the dog feels he is pack leader to humans. This can cause varying degrees of a wide variety of behavior problems. Including, but not limited to, obsessive barking, guarding,separation anxiety, snapping, and even biting. These are not Bichon traits, but rather behaviors brought on by the way the dog is treated. If you begin to be your dogs pack leader, and are self assured, calm consistently and assertive towards the dog, providing daily pack walks, the Bichon will be a very stable minded, trustworthy dog. Some are prone to watery eyes, cataracts, skin and ear ailments, also epilepsy and dislocated kneecaps. They can be very sensitive to flea bites. The Bichon Frise can live in an apartment if it gets enough exercise. They are fairly active indoors and will do okay without a yard. These are active little dogs, who need a daily walk. Play will take care of a lot of their exercise needs, however, as with all breeds, play will not fulfill their primal instinct to walk. Dogs who do not get to go on daily walks are more likely to display behavior problems. They will also enjoy a good romp in a safe open area off lead, such as a large fenced in yard. This breed should be groomed frequently and bathed every month. Professional grooming is recommended every 4 weeks. Trim around the eyes and ears with a blunt pair of scissors and clean the eyes extensively to prevent staining. Show dogs are trimmed with scissors. The body of the pet dogs may be clipped with electric clippers though the rest of the dog must still be scissored. The Bichon sheds little to no hair and is good for allergy suffers. The Bichon Frise dates back as far as the 13th century. The breed is a descendent of the Barbet Water Spaniel and the Poodle. The Bichon was traded all over the world by Spanish sailors.
