Yes, and on several little islands off of Santa Barbara. I was at UC, Santa Barbara doing research with the history department a few years ago when the department brought in the last Chumesh speaking woman. She was in her 70's then and she was the last of her tribe to be able to speak her native language. She was working hard to try to teach others to keep the language alive.
