True.
It was the Greeks who came first!! A little birdie told me that the Greeks came from 900-800BC and the Norse 17th-18th. But the Norse discovered America first. ;1
This is unknown, since only the Greeks were writing down their myths at that time.
They were their religion.
The obvious answer here is 'Greek Myths'. This of course is under the assumption that you are talking about famous Greek Mythology such as Titans and Gods and Goddesses- Hercules and the like. The Greeks that created these myths lived long, long before 'Jesus', and the several of the writings about Greek Mythology happened around 500 B.C., While it appears the first draft of the standard Christian Holy Bible was not created until circa 261 A.D, which is more than 750 years AFTER most of the Greek Myths were penned. Of course the Greek Mythos began it's creation as early as the 8th and 6th century BC, while, according to Christian faith the New Testament of the Bible could not have been created before 0 A.D, even verbally the stories didn't exist yet.
The diffenences between myths are, in my opinon, have 3 primary bases. First, is the type of mythologies of which myths came from ,and how the mythologies got there beginnings, for examples, the myths of hercules, percesus, and thesus, all came from greek mythology, and greek mythology begin when a space called Chaos created four main godly being, which made other godly beings as in the Titans and the Olympians. Second, is the cultures and beliefs, for examples, the Australian's aborigines beliefs are that of the Dreamtimes and reverence of their land. Finally, is the people and places which myths came from, for examples, Norses myths came from the Vikings, Norsemans, and Norse pagans, and they all came from Germany and Scandinavia.
Athena came after Hercules because Hercules is to old.
The Greeks did. They live in Greece.
Homer's Illiad is based in the time when Greek myths and their gods and goddesses were believed to be reality, so Greek myth came first.
Not entirely. Greek myths came first, and the stories quickly spread. Although they have many similarities, they are not wholy based on Greek legend. If you have studied it you would notice there are many defined differences between the two.
The Greek myths are older than the roman. When the Romans came in contact with Greek culture they loved every part of it and applied much of the Greek myths to their own gods.
