Actually they hung and burned them earlier than the 1800's..In fact any female found to be clairvoyant,have special healing powers,most of them were midwives, and healers, so they were also burnt at the stake with their cats etc etc..It is said that the healers/witches used belladona on their daughters when they were about to be found out as healers etc etc, and the mothers rather than have their daughters subjected to the painful fires,etc etc,would put them either a deathlike state or they would die before they would suffer...But you know one burns the shell of a human even witches a higher power takes the soul..
