And, consequently, stuck by their official report of friendly fire destroying US Navy PCF #19 (Swift Boat) in 1968; which witness's, crewmen, and the final aftermath resulted in Swift Boat 19 being sunk, leaving one US Sailor in the sunken boat. During the entire contact, PCF 19 & 12 reported being heavily engaged with NVAF helicopters off the DMZ area of operation during the night. The Swifts fired their .50s and the choppers fired rockets and machine guns at the boats.
