It is generally agreed that ancient Egyptians did in fact build the pyramids, but there are some alternate theories. One of the most popular is that when the city of (legendary) Atlantis was flooded that the escapees ran and settled in Egypt before it was civilized. The theory says that the Atlantians built the pyramids as a remembrance for their lost city and those lost with it.
