The mission system did no favors for the Native Americans. It made them into slaves that were treated horribly by the church. Historians are finding mass graves today on mission grounds. As with many things like the missions they couldn't eat, worship, or dress according to their native cultures.

Mission Native Americans were not treated well at missions. Once the converted to Christianity they weren't allowed to leave the mission. The soldiers who were assigned to the mission treated them poorly. Often they raped the women and the padres didn't treat them right either. On mission grounds historians have found mass graves of Native Americans.

Yes, the mission Santa Clara Native Americans, like many other indigenous groups, resisted Spanish colonization and missionization efforts. One notable instance of revolt occurred in 1812 when the Native Americans at Mission Santa Clara rebelled against the oppressive conditions and loss of their autonomy. This resistance was part of a broader pattern of indigenous uprisings throughout California, driven by frustration over forced labor, cultural suppression, and the disruption of their traditional ways of life.
