Yes the Battle of Mogadishu was a victory. The objective was a raid against Olymicpic Hotel where special forces intende to capture multiple enemy leaders which was a success. However The raid was intended to be one hour but heavily armed Somalian miltiamen attacked. Two Black Hawk helicopters were destoryed (hence the name Black Hawk Down) and the one hour raid turned into an overnight battle. 17 US soliders were killed (their bodies were paraded in the streets and mutilated) 70 were injuried.
