No they invented the biplane as well
Cars can only go where there are roads, airplanes can go anywhere.
Strangely enough, the Wright Brothers did not invent the airplane! Don't believe it? Do your homework. Airplane flights of 2 hours and longer were quite common before the Brothers got off the ground. Technology and Physics of lift and wing shapes was already proven and in use. Getting airborne with self-contained power was the only missing link.
The Wright Brothers were only one group of many who were trying to invent a powered airplane, and all of them were inspired by Otto Lilienthal, a German inventor who created gliders and flew on them. (Lilienthal also helped to invent the Fatal Airplane Crash, but that is a story for another time.) Lilienthal had to take off from a hill, had to fly only as the wind allowed him to and could only fly short distances. All the airplane inventors realized that if the airplane was to be a useful tool rather than a fun toy you had to be able to go when, where and as far as you wanted...and that meant putting an engine on it.
wind tunnel
He didnt create the airplane but he did create the first Canadian airplane, im not 100% sure on that answer but i believe its true. Alexander Graham Bell was the first to fly and mounths before the wright brothers did. Another theory is that a person from newzeland and a person from France suposivly flew first the only reason the wright brothers are the most popular one is because the American media is powerful
100 feet up in the air; lasted only 12 seconds
.The first person to successfully fly a powered airplane was Orville Wright, on September 17, 1903. It only lasted 12 seconds, but that was long enough to prove that the Wright Brothers, Orviille and Wilbur, had succeeded in inventing the first successful airplane.
the wright brothers were the first in the world to create a self sustained and self controlled flight via the huge canard (rear propelled) plane. So yes, the wright flyer was the first working airplane in the world, not only the U.S.
Many aircraft were created, flown short distances and crashed during the late 1890's and early 1900's. -The Wright brothers were by no means the inventors of the first aeroplane -as appears to be popularly thought in American schools.
False
Alberto Santos Dumout One cannot actually call it invention. The Wright Brothers ore the only inventors. The rest are copiers.
The Wright brothers, Orville (August 19, 1871 - January 30, 1948) and Wilbur (April 16, 1867 - May 30, 1912), were two Americans who are generally credited[1][2][3] with inventing and building the world's first successful airplane and making the first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight, on December 17, 1903. In the two years afterward, the brothers developed their flying machine into the first practical fixed-wing aircraft. Although not the first to build and fly experimental aircraft, the Wright brothers were the first to invent aircraft controls that made fixed-wing powered flight possible.By the Wright brothers Wilbur and Orvile in 1903 Correction - The airplane was actually invented by Santos Dumont, but was first successfully flown by the Wright brothers Wilbur and Orvile in 1903.The areoplane was invented in 1903.1903 by the wright brothers. It was called the wright flyer and flew at kitty hawk North Carolina. Note this only applies to powered flight in 1903Leonardo did not date his sketches.
