Emil Maurice was never a "main Nazi," he was Hitler's bodyguard in the 1920's and helped kill some SA members during the Night of the Long Knives, June 30, 1934. While there were rumors that one of Hitler's grandfathers was Jewish, there is no confirmation of this, since his grandmother refused to reveal the father of her child, to her death. There is a suspicion that it was her Jewish employer, but there is no evidence of this, and Hitler never spoke of this, of course. I can find no evidence of Heydrich having a Jewish grandparent, and it's unlikely he would have been allowed to join the SS or achieve his high rank in the Nazi Party if this were true.

A word of advice to the questioner:

Beware mischevious stories. In the 1920s all kinds of gossip circulated about various Nazis, including stories claiming that they were partly (or even wholly) of Jewish origin.+___

I disagree somewhat with the answer above. Emil Maurice was a very important member of the Nazi party. He was an original organizer of the SA and survived the SA fall from grace by switching loyalties, and becoming the founder and member #2, of the SS (Hitler was SS member #1). Consider that Himmler was SS member #168 and when Himmler found out about Maurice's Jewish Heritage the devious Reichsfuhrer attempted to have Maurice and his 3 brothers expelled from the SS. However Hitler would not allow this calling Maurice his most loyal and brave member from the earliest days of the Nazi party (In a secret letter to Himmler). Maurice was the closest bodyguard and confidant of Hitler from 1920 (!) to the end of hostilities, even keeping his job after it was revealed that he had a relationship with Hitlers niece, Geli Ruabal (It is believed that Hitler was sexually obsessed with Geli and may have caused or had a role in her suicide.). Perhaps only Martin Bohrman (Hitlers Personal Secretary) had closer access to the dictator than did Maurice. Maurice, was not considered a war criminal however, and died in Munich in 1972. I agree that there is no proof of Hitler or Heydrich having a Jewish heritage, but the evidence on this point remains hideously tantalizing, if circumstantial.

Who was the leader of the Holocaust?

The Holocaust was in the hands of the SS, which was headed by Heinrich Himmler. One of the main architects of the detailed arrangements for the 'Final Solution' was Reinhard Heydrich (1904-42), an SS-Obergruppenfuehrer (Lieutentant-General) who was so to speak the power behind the throne in the SS. (In May 1942 he was assassinated in Prague by members of the Free Czechoslovak Army who had been parachuted into Bohemia by the RAF. He was the only really senior Nazi to be assassinated. Heydrich had combined many functions and posts and these were later divided. The construction of the death camps at Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor and Majdanek was called "Operation Reinhard" after him! Heydrich was buried amid much pomp and ceremony in Berlin, but his grave was destroyed by the Allies in 1945 to prevent it becoming a Nazi place of pilgrimage. One of the most notorious Nazis who played an active role in the Holocaust was Adolf Eichmann (1906-62). Joncey See the Related Link for "Wikipedia: Reinhard Heydrich" to the right.

Who created the final solution?

The "final solution" (extermination of all Jews within German-occupied territories) was outlined at the Wannsee Conference on January 20, 1942. The conference was called by Reinhard Heydrich at the behest of Reich Marshal Hermann Goring, who was acting on behalf of Adolf Hitler. Heydrich was charged with creating and implementing the deportation, imprisonment, and execution of the Jewish populations. Present at the meeting was Adolf Eichmann, who took over Operation Reinhard after Heydrich was assassinated in Prague on June 4.

Who organized violence against the Jews?

Hilter was the leader of the Natzi's who rounded up and through the Jews in concentration campsYes Hitler blamed the Jews for all of Germany's problems. Also yes gave the orders to put them into concentration, but Hitler did not give the order to kill the Jews. He left that in the hands of his trusted henchmanHeinrich Himmler and Reinhard Heydrich. So technically Hitler himself did not organize the killing of all of those jews. He just authorized it.
