the battle of midway was fought by mainly air, partly sea, and no land. The US had planes station on Midway, but no actual fighting took place on land. It was mainly a battle of air craft carrier based air planes bombing the enemies ships.
A concerted attack by land sea and air.
Besides air strikes on land and sea targets, they were used "for the first time" to contest control of the sea (more commonly called "Sea Battles"). Instead of battleships fighting it out; carriers fought it out...first at Coral Sea, later at Midway.

SEa, Air and Land
The phrase "land, air, and sea" is usually referring to the U.S. Marine Corps which is designed to be able to deploy at once during a conflict or disaster--hence they are specialized in all three forms of transportation and fighting. The Marine's anthem even states: "We fight our country's battles in the air, on land, and sea."
Colder air blowing in from the sea to the land is called a "sea breeze".
Mostly Infantry and Artillery, with some Air and Sea support.
It is an on-shore breeze.
Land, sea and air were the arenas used.
Eagle-Air Globe-land Ancher-sea "In the Air, on Land, and Sea"
It symbolizes the "land" element of the Marine Corps ability to operate at sea, on land, or from the air. It's something the USMC takes pride in, because while the Navy has a Sea and Air component, the Army has a Land and Air component, and the Air Force has an Air and Land component, the Marines are the only branch to be 100% combat effective on all three. That is why their sacred symbol is the Eagle (air), Globe (land), and Anchor (sea).
sea breeze
Sea breeze A sea breeze blows from the sea toward land. During the day the air above the land is warmer than the air above the water. The air rises creating low pressure at the surface of the land . The air above the water moves toward the land. Land breeze A land breeze blows from the land toward the sea. At night the water is warmer than the land. The air above the land is cooler, so it sinks. This creates high pressure at the surface of the land. The air above the land moves toward the water.
