Any licensed hair salon will be capable of doing microbraids. If interested in this hairstyle, a stylist that has done many of these before would be the best choice. Practice makes perfect.

You do not have to be a hair Stylist to own a Salon. The salon must be ran and managed by a license Stylist as pertaining to performing all of the services that offered in your salon. You are allowed to own that business and rent and hire professionals to run that business for you. However if you do not have a Cosmetology license you cannot perform any services on anyone that walks through that door. This differs greatly in each state.
Since natural African American hair can require more care, it is possible that it is more expensive to have one's hair done at a black salon. However, the stylist and their expertise may well be worth the expense.
If you're using a grocery store brand, then yes. If you're going to a salon it depends on what you're doing. The grocery store brands have minerals in them that are really bad for your hair's natural structure, where as a salon's brand TRIES to work with your hair. A good general rule to avoid too much damage is to talk with your stylist. The lighter that you're going to go the more damage you're going to get. But now there are brands of color that actually IMPROVE the state of your hair. Talk to a stylist before you make drastic changes to see what can be done to prevent damage :)
