I'd say it has it's pro's and con's. Yes it may help our economy grow with more being spent. But then how much is it also costing with welfare and NHS fees. Also if the overcrowding is coming from people from overseas it may be causing our own people to be losing/out of jobs. But you also have the lower dirty paid jobs that we need and depend on overseas people doing. What state would we be in without overseas doctors and surgeons That our public depend on so much. So as i said it has it's pro's and con's. This is only a small answer and really you could argue it back and forward. Look at china there government only allows each family to have one child each. but would we in the west see that as against our human rights??.

Overpopulation puts a strain on all public services. Also if there is not enough work for all members of a population then the unemployed have to be looked after (in most areas of the developed world anyway) with financial aid.
