No. If Kilimanjaro erupted, it would've erupted within the last 10,000 years, because the world was only created within 10,000 years ago. There is alot of evidence for this. How else do you explain finding tissue and living blood cells in a T-Rex skeleton?
Kilimanjaro's last estimated eruption was 360,000 years ago in Pre History.
about 10000 years ago
The last major eruption of Mt. Kilimanjaro was between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago so, NO people did not know that it would erupt.

Kibo is the only non-extinct peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. The last time is erupted was over 100,000 years ago, many millennia before 1911.
Kilimanjaro is a large stratovolcano. Two of its three peaks, Mawenzi and Shira, are extinct while Kibo, its highest peak, is dormant and could erupt again. The last major eruption has been dated to between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago

Kilimanjaro includes three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. The last eruption of any of them is estimated at 150,000-200,000 years ago. Mawenzi and Shira are extinct volcanoes, but Kibo is merely dormant and could conceivably erupt again.
