Sort of. In the Megaman Zero Series, yes, it concluded with Zero's death. However, in Megaman ZX, there are models that are supposedly "fragments of ancient heros who protected the world". Model Z is one of them, who is supposedly a frgment of Zero.

Megaman X did not "die" per se, but was split into five cyber-elves from the shock of sealing the Dark Elf (this event ended the "Elf Wars", which wiped out 90% of the humans and 60% of the reploids). Four of the cyber-elves were made into the four guardians: Fighting Fefnir, Fairy Leviathan, Sage Harpuia and Hidden Phantom. The last remaining cyber-elf was the true conscience of Megaman X. He helped Zero from time to time throughout Megaman Zero 1, 2 and 3. Afterwards, he officially retired to cyberspace.

Well, it's left ambiguous. Seeing as how we know at that Zero and X were sealed together (in a semi-permanent fashion) at some point near the end of the series, I'd say he's not dead-dead, probably just "dead".

No, Assuming your talking about Mega Man X, no, In the original Mega man X, You meet Zero within the first couple minutes, and he says to X that he would become as strong as him, but not become him, total difference. Assuming your talking about the original Mega man, Capcom has never established what happened to Mega man and his friends, The chances of Mega man being Zero though is unlikely
