Basically, it depends on the size of the pack. Each M&M is about 1g. So, if you have a 20g pack there are approximately 20 M&M's in the pack.
The 12 pack is cheaper as it works out at 0.83 each, whereas the 7 pack is 0.85 each.
It seems to mean a lot of money. Referring to the number of decimals in a large amount of money. ex. "I earned a pack of zeros at that gig"

The pack command's algorithm uses Huffman encoding to compress files. This algorithm has fundamental limitations. Consequently, the pack command can only consistently compress files under 8MB. To consistently compress files larger than 8MB, use the compress command.
