Analogue scales use mechanical components such as springs or levers to determine weight and display their measurements with a moving dial or with graduated beams and sliding weights (poises).

Digital scales use an electronic load sensor such as a load cell to determine weight and convert this to a digital signal to be displayed on an LCD or LED.

Notice that this is not the same as digital vs analog when it comes to electrical circuits. Scales which use electrical power to function, but are not digital (no microprocessors) are simply called Electronic Scales, not Analog Scales. The term Analog Scale in the industry typically refers to mechanical scales.

Digital and electronic scales are more common these days as their price to performance ratio has greatly improved. They are also much easier to use than older analog scales. Accuracy is not a matter of analog or digital and both can be accurate or inaccurate depending on several factors just like a digital and an analog wrist watch can both have the wrong time. Generally speaking though, digital scales offer much finer display resolution.

An analog meter reads current by deflecting a meter flux density. it is slow in response but desirable for visual monitoring however the accuracy is usually not that good. Digital meter while they are fast for response the last digit maybe be ambiguous in as a reading final meaning full readout.

senstivity of analog instrument is more than digital instrument.accuracy of digital instrument is always less than a analog instrument.

An analog multimeter will have a scale with numbers on it. When you are testing something, such as the voltage of a 12 volt car batter, a needle will move and point to how many volts that battery has (around 12 if it is fully charged).

A digital multimeter has a display screen similar to that of a calculator. It will show zero until you connect it to something, such as a car battery and it will then show you the exact number of volts.

Digital multimeters are more accurate because you can see the actual number instead of trying to estimate it on a scale.

Multimeters typically measure volts, ohms, and amps. More expensive models go into measurements such as capacitance.

Nothing, a voltage as itself is a voltage.

However, that said, in analog the voltage (or current, etc.) is the full data value by analogy. Whereas in digital the voltage (or current, etc.) is only one bit of an encoded data value, more bits either in parallel or in time serial are needed for the full data value.

An analog meter uses an analog display - a needle that physically moves around. A digital meter will have an LCD display.

Difference between analog and digital control systems?

An analog control system is one that presents data by measuring a continuous variable. This reports the data back in voltage or pressure.

What is the difference between digital and analogs?

In chemistry, analog is a compound with a molecular structure closely similar to another. Analog is also relating to or using signals or info represented by a continuously variable physical quantity such as spatial position or voltage. Analog is often contrasted (opposite) of DIGITAL --like a clock showing the time represented by "hands" instead of being Displayed DIGITS.

What is the difference between a modem and a codec?

* Codec is for coding analog data into digital form and decoding it back. The digital data coded by Codec are samples of analog waves. * Modem is for modulating digital data into analog form and demodulating it back. The analog symbols carry digital data.
