Mitochondria is an organelle of the cell where as the chloroplast is a kind of plastids.... mitochondria is found in plants and animals both where as chloroplasts are found only in plants... Mitochondria is the power house of cell where cellular respiration takes place and chloroplast is a green pigment especially in leaves that helps it for photosynthesis called chlorophyll. hope its helpful!! ^_^

∙ 8y agoChloroplasts can only be found in cells of a plant and have a green filament called chlorophyll that produces glucose by feeding off the suns rays. This green filament gives the plant its green color.
Mitochondria are found in cells of both plants and animals (and yes humans are animals). Their main purpose is supplying the cell with energy, by converting glucose. However, they are colorless.
