well program is a set of instructions that are given to computer to perform perticular task as we want.
And data is any information that is stored in computer hard disc. it can not make any control on computer of computer related process.

∙ 12y agoData is information that is formatted to a certain standard (non-formatted information is static.) When you open up a new text file in your favorite text editor, and then save the file, you are saving the data to a file on the computer.
Programs, or "software," on the other hand, are used to access and modify data. The "favorite text editor" in the prior example is a program. The key difference is that data is simple, static information. Programs do something with the data.
