The difference between the Focus and the Epicenter is......

The Focus is pretty much where the earthquake starts but some people say it is the center of the earthquake. But moving on the Epicenter is right above the Focus but on the crust.

I hope that answered your question!!

The difference between the epicentre and the focus of earthquakes is this:

The focus of the earthquake is where the actual earthquake occurred and the epicentre is on the ground directly above the focus. The epicentre is used to say where the earthquake was in relation to places near where it occurred.

Hope this helped :)

Whats the difference between the epicenter of an earthquake and the focus of the earthquake?

The focus of an earthquake is the place where an earthquake occurred along the fault underground, while the epicenter is the place directly above it where the seismic waves were felt. The focus is where an earthquake starts and the epicenter is where the earthquake hits the hardest. The focus of the earthquake is where the actual earthquake occurred and the epicenter is on the ground directly above the focus. The epicenter is used to say where the earthquake was in relation to places near where it occurred.

How does an epicenter contrast from the focus?

the epicenter is directly above the focus

What is the difference between epicenter and earthquake?

An earthquake can reach several miles in distance, but the epicenter is the point of the strongest movement, usually the starting point from which it spreads. Also, the epicentre is on the ground directly above the focus. The focus is the point where the actual earthquake occurred. Hope this helped:)

What is the difference between an epicenter and an earthquake?

An earthquake is the sudden shaking of the grounddue to the energy released by sudden movement and breaking of rocks along fault lines in the earth's crust. The epicenter is a point on the earth's surface directly above the focus of the earthquake. The focus is the point underground where the fault line starts rupturing.

Where is this earthquake's epicenter?

the epicenter is the area directly over the focus which is jus a fancy name for where the earthquake actually happened the epicenter is on the surface of the earth, no matter how far the focus is down in the ground
