∙ 13y agoMaps show the world on a flat piece of paper where as globes are showing the world on a sphere like it actually is. The benefits to having a map is you can see the world as a whole and it can show you a variety of information. The problem with maps however is because it is a flattened version of the world there is some distortion in size and shape of certain land masses and bodies of water. Globes are great for getting a perspective of how the world actually is but it is difficult to view the world as a whole.
