Mass is how much matter there is in something.

Volume is the amount of space enclosed by a shape or object that is 3 dimensional.

When it comes to similarity, they're both measurements of how much of something (either matter or space) is in something.

Other things being equal, an object with more volume will have more weight. However, other things will not always be equal. You may also have to take into consideration the force of gravitation, as well as the density.

What are the similarities and differences of the states of matter as it pertains to shape and volume?

A given mass of gas can assume any shape and volume; a given mass of liquid can assume any shape but has a constant volume; and a given mass of a single solid has a fixed shape and volume.

A relationship between mass and volume is known as?

The mathematical relationship between mass 'm' and volume 'V' is that the ratio of these two quantities is equal to the density. The ratio of a substanceâ??s mass and volume is given as mass per unit volume. Density is a physical property of a substance.

What patterns are there between mass and volume?

I am not sure what you mean with "pattern". The relationship is: density = mass / volume, or mass = volume x density.

How does physical science relate to mass volume and density?

The density is the ratio between mass and volume. So density = mass / volume

What is the relationship between mass of a solid object and the volume?

There is no direct relationship between how much mass an object has and it's volume. That is, mass plays no part in calculating the volume, and volume plays not part in determining mass. However, they are related by the equation to calculate the density. Density=Mass/Volume.

What is the relationship between the mass and volume of a sodium chloride solution?

Density=Mass/Volume

what is relationship between volume and mass?

Density is equal to mass divided by volume. As mass increases so does volume so this is a direct relationship.

What is the relationship between the volume and mass when it comes to density?

Dividing the mass by the volume results in the density.

What is the property that describes the relationship between the mass of a material and its volume?

Mass / volume is called "density".
