A strobe signal is sent by the signal sender without any regard to the signal receiver. This assumes that the design provides sufficient setup and hold time, along with transmission time, to ensure reliable receipt of the signal. A handshake signal is a bi-directional protocol between the signal sender and the signal receiver, which the receiver uses to tell the sender that the signal has been received. In this system, it often does not matter what the transmission time is, but bandwidth can be reduced since the sender must wait for the handshake to come back from the receiver, effectively doubling the time it takes to send a signal.

What do you mean single and double handshaking of microprocessor 8086?

They are the ways of transmitting parallel data to the microprocessor. In single handshake, a peripheral device first sends a "Strobe signal" to the microprocessor to indicate that it is ready to send data. The microprocessor , upon detecting the strobe signal, opens up its input port and receives the data. After receiving data, it sends an "Acknowledge signal" to the peripheral to indicate that transmission has been completed.A transmission session has been completed. In double handshake, first the peripheral device sends a strobe signal, the microprocessor, sends the acknowledge signal to indicate that it is ready to receive data. After which data is received. After sending data, the peripheral sends a strobe signal to indicate data transmission completion, due to which, the microprocessor drops its acknowledge signal and a session has been completed. The only difference in the two is that, in double handshake, the peripheral is informed about the microprocessor's readiness to receive data. This is doesn't happen in single handshake. So the name follows "double handshake", literally meaning "double confirmation".

What is strobe signal?

A strobe signal is the name for any signal that flashes on and off. For example the turn-lights on a car. Certain lights such as some leds aren't actually on all the time but flash faster than the eye can see, that is also a strobe signal.

Which signal for confirming the receipt of data by printer?

How do you hook up strobes in your expedition what kind of wire and were do you run it to?

You will have to buy a strobe controller. This is the devices that sends pulsed signal based on the speed/pattern strobe you want. to install the strobe itself, normally you have to drill into the stock light using the appropriate bit.

What is a strobed input in microprocessor?

A strobe is a signal that defines a sampling period for another signal. Strobes are usually level sensitive. For example, an analog-to-digital converter often has a sample-hold circuit in front of it controlled by a strobe: "on" means sample, "off" means hold. In signal processing the strobe-open time is called the "aperture". The fact that it is non-zero in real systems leads to an artifact called "aperture error". A clock by contrast is edge-sensitive. Clocks too can have a kind of aperture error - jitter - which also causes artifacts in processing.

What is strobe in IC CA3130?

Pin 8 is called Strobe pin. It is used for Phase compensation and Gain control to optimize frequency response. For this a capacitor(usually 47 pF) is connected between pin 8 and pin1
