Similarites being the water baptism is a physical act and the baptism of desire is not the way that Jesus was baptized. Rather the desire is actually a desire to not have to do more than just think about baptism.

Can people who have not received Baptism from the priest in the church go to heaven?

Yes. There are two other ways to go to heaven. Baptism of Desire and Baptism of Blood. The first way is the Baptism of desire. Baptism of desire is when someone is sorry for their sins and cooperates with God's grace by trying to please him as best they know how to. The next way is the Baptism of blood. Baptism of blood is when someone gives up their life in martyrdom to Jesus. This shows that they have faith in Jesus and were saved by him.

Why does a mother present the child for baptism?

The baby is too young to reason and express his/her desire for baptism. The baby understands nothing about what is happening. The parents and Godparents speak for the child when the priest asks, "What do you desire of the Church?" The child will have the opportunity to 'confirm' that desire at a later time when he/she undergoes Confirmation.

What do you renew at Confirmation that carries over from Baptism?

You renew the baptismal promises made by your Godparents for you at Baptism. You are, basically, 'confirming' those promises and your own desire to be a Catholic.

How was blood and desire used as symbols of baptism as oppose to what you use today water?

BAPTISM OF DESIRE66. Some people die while being ignorant of the Gospel of Christ and His Church. In such cases, it can be presumed that they have received the Baptism of desire and were saved if they truly searched for the truth and lived righteous lives by the will of God in accordance with their understanding. "It may be supposed that such persons would have desired Baptism explicitly if they had known its necessity." (C.C.C. # 1260, 1281)BAPTISM OF BLOOD67. In a situation where someone endures death for the sake of his faith without having received the Sacrament of Baptism, he is baptised by death for and with Christ. The Church recognizes that in such a case, he has received the Baptism of blood, this being like a baptism of desire. Although not a Sacrament, the Baptism of blood reflects the fruit of the Holy Spirit which shines forth. (C.C.C. # 1258)You can find it at http://www.catholicdoors.com/courses/baptism.htm:)

What are the differences form of baptism?

The Roman Catholic church accepts two broad classes of alternative to the sacrament of Baptism:- so-called Baptism by Desire, and Baptism by Blood. If you search carefully you may find earlier versions of the Catechism (especially in non-English languages) which refer to Baptism by Desire and Baptism by Blood as different forms of Baptism, but this terminology often led to confusion - these days the Church prefers to speak of them as alternatives to Baptism (Baptism by water).Mainstream Church doctrine does not accept any baptism before the Ministry of Our Lord as a valid sacrament (specifically the baptisms of John the Precursor are held to be different from true baptisms by the Council of Trent); a fuller treatment of the complex doctrinal reasoning surrounding pre-Christian baptism is offered in the New Advent Encyclopedia.

Why is There A Feud Between Dwarves And Elves in hobbit?

The feud between dwarves and elves in The Hobbit stems from historical grievances and differing values. These differences result in deep-rooted animosity between the two races that persists throughout the story.

Is there a way to undo a baptism?

There are some people who make a point of formally renouncing their own baptism, which you are free to do if you so desire. I would like to point out that your baptism only has meaning if you agree that it does. Otherwise, all that your baptism consisted of was that someone poured some water on you, which is a fairly inconsequential event, of no greater consequence than squirting someone with a water pistol. You have always been free to believe what you want, or to disbelieve what you want, and to be whom you want to be, whether Christian, atheist, or whatever. The baptism does not constrain you.

What are the primary similarities and differences between Kabbalah and Zen Buddhism?

Eastern teaching are built on the nullification of desires, or at least on their complete suppression, whereas Kabbalah states that the Creator can be sensed precisely by expressing the desire for Him (and certainly not by nullifying it), only by inverting the aim of its use. Perhaps they are very similar on the outside. The sensations of the Eastern teaching are built on the suppression of one's desire to enjoy. A person who suppresses his ego feels in that passive state something that seems spiritual. That is why there appears to be some resemblance in the description of the approach of Kabbalah, but in truth, there is an enormous difference in the expression of the ego and its treatment. To a Kabbalist, who is in the spiritual world, the roots and differences between the various beliefs and faiths are very clear. But it's a path which depends on efforts and study. www.kabbalah.info For a more rounded approach to this answer, view the discussion.
