If you mean, what is the difference between a DSLR and a film camera, well the answer is obvious. One uses a light sensitive component to capture light and convert it into an image file and the other uses light sensitive film to hold the image until it is processed in the appropriate chemistry. Two entirely different technologies to achieve the same result.

"Regular" cameras are really film cameras, which just means that after you take a photograph, you have to develop the picture. Digital cameras, on the other hand, allow you to immediately see your picture and load it to your computer. While digital cameras are easier to use, film cameras tend to produce higher quality photos.
