The genotype of an organism is the group of characteristics derived from a combination of heredity and environmental factors. Genotype is based on genetic factors only.

phenotypes are the genes that an organism carries. For example, the gene for blue eyes could be b and the gene for brown eyes could be B. Bb is a genotype. Phenotype is the trait that show up. Since brown eyes are dominant, the phenotype of Bb would be brown eyes.

Phenotype means the characters which are observed in the organism. These characters are physical changes which may be directly seen on the organism. Genotypemeans the genetic constitution of the organism. The genotype results in the phenotype. A genotype is the actual composition of the alleles present on each chromosome for a particular gene in an organism. A phenotype is the observed trait in the organism. For example, let's say the gene for being tall is represented by the letter "T". If the "tall" gene is dominant, then the other possible gene in that locus would be "not tall" or "short." The gene for short would then be represented by "t" and the gene for tall would be represented by "T". Humans have 46 chromosomes and are diploid organisms. therefore, we have 2 pairs each of 23 different chromosomes. The loci on homologous (similar) chromosomes are not always exactly the same. The chromosome containing the gene defining whether you are tall or short could have a T or a t. Let's say one of the chromosomes has a T and the other has a t. That means the genotype would be Tt and the phenotype would be "tall" because being tall is dominant over being short. If both chromosomes have T, then the genotype would be TT and the phenotype would be tall. If both chromosomes have a t, then the genotype is tt and the phenotype is short. Short would be defined as a recessive allele, so in order to produce the short phenotype, the organism must be homozygous (have the same allele on both chromosomes) for the recessive allele. Keep in mind that I made this up as a hypothetical example.

genotype is the genes involved for example the letters: GG, Gg, or gg phenotype is the characteristic you see because of the genotype the genotype tell what the phenotype will be for example: if G is green and g is white GG will have a green phenotype Gg will have a green phenotype gg will have a white phenotype

Phenotype refers to the external appearace of an organism whereas genotype refers to its genetic make up. For example a blue eyed girl may be due to single ressessive gene or due to two recessive genes. Here color of the eye is phenotypic expression and presence of one or two genes for eye color is genotypic make up.

A phenotype is the actual appearance of a trait, such as blue eyes or brown hair. The genotype is the symbol for that trait, such as BB, Bb, or bb.

The genotype is the genetic makeup on the other hand phenotype is the outcome or expression of that particular genotype.

What is the different between gornetype plus phenotype give on example?

genotype refers to the set of alleles. phenotype refers to how the characteristics manifest themselves. e.g phenotype- blue eyes genotype- bb

How are Genotype phenotype different?

Phenotypes are the traits expressed by the genotype. So, for blood type, a person can have A and i alleles (genotype). However, in the phenotype, since i is recessive, only the A will be expressed, and the person will have an A blood type.

Does phenotype determine genotype?

It is a false statement that "phenotype determines genotype". In fact, it is the opposite. A genotype is the genetics or "instructions" that determine the phenotype. The phenotype is the actual appearance, ex: blue eyes, that is created by a given genotype.
