weft knitted
Shor Just a guess, but I would think that raw silk could be woven with two colors on a loom.
Weft refers to the threads that run horizontally across the fabric during the weaving process. It is interlaced with the warp threads, which run vertically, to create the fabric structure. The weft threads are inserted over and under the warp threads to create different patterns and textures in the fabric.
The weft is the yarn that is woven horizontally in the creation of a fabric.
Knitting has no weft. That sounds like a weaving thing, to me.
Weft to right is the WEFT the yarn running in the length is the WARP yarn
Warp yarns are threaded on the loom and form the long-ways fibers. Weft yarns are woven in and out of the warp yarns side-to-side during the weaving process. The weft yarns tend to be the fluffier, larger, or more decorative yarns in the project, but this isn't always true.
weft knitting industry because it is more economical to produce a weft knitted fabric and ornamentation is quite easy in this fabric
Weft
The word "woft" is a Scottish variant of the word "weft." Weft is a noun referring to the crosswise or transverse threading in woven cloth.
Textile warping is the processing of creating the base yarn that runs top to bottom on woven cloth. Basic woven cloth consists of 2 yarns; a warp and a weft. Think of the warp as the continuous row of yarns and the weft as the yarns that are woven in from side to side.
