Many Different ways to differentiate the Binary compounds, one is that an Ionic Bond is a bond that has a metal and a nonmetal bond. As too covalent bond has two nonmetals. Another method would be that ionic bonds use oxidation numbers as when covalent bonds have numerical pretices.
