It is definitely used in a turbo-generator
AVR stands for automatic voltage regulator.
A generator, alternator, or dynamo is a (usually)rotating machine that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy.This is the principle behind electrical generation with the windmill, hydroelectric generator, crank generator. Ocean wave generators take advantage of the vertical motion of rising and falling water to achieve the same effect.
-Check turbo generator lube oil sump level and drain it for water. Replenish it if level is less than normal. -Start the lube oil priming pump from the local station and check the lube oil pressure. Put the priming pump on auto. -Check and fill up the Turbine Generator vacuum pump operating water tank to normal level. -Check vacuum condenser condensate level from the condensate pump. Put the pump on auto so that the level is maintained all the time. -Operate the steam drain valve to drain any condensed water from the steam line to avoid excessive hammering and vibration while starting turbo generator. -Open the main steam inlet valve for turbo generator. -Adjust the gland steam pressure to normal level. -Check and open the sea water valves for vacuum pump cooler, T/G lube oil cooler and vacuum condenser are opened. -Start the vacuum pump and bring up the vacuum in the condenser. -Open condensate pump valves and switch on the pump. -Check whether the condensate vacuum, gland steam pressure, steam inlet pressure, and lube oil pressure are normal. -Start turbo generator from the local station and close the drain in the steam line. -Check first and second stage steam pressure. -Check condenser vacuum and water level. -Check lube oil pressure and vibration levels. -Check turbo generator speed, voltage, frequency, vacuum, condenser level and other parameters. -Give control to remote station from the local control and take the TG on load.
Borland Turbo C came with an editor, compiler, linker and debugger, all of which were tightly integrated into the Turbo C IDE (integrated development environment). The professional version also came with standalone versions of the Turbo Assembler and Turbo Debugger. Note that Turbo C is 27 years old. As such it is redundant. All Borland development tools are now owned by Embarcadero. Turbo C is now classed as "antique".

Damper windings:- Most of the alternators have their pole-shoes slotted for receiving copper bars of a grid or damper winding (also known as squirrel- cage winding).the copper bars are short-circuited at both ends heavy copper rings. these dampers are useful in preventing the hunting9momentary speed fluctuations) in generators and needed in synchronous motors to provide the starting torque. Turbo- generators usually do not have these damper windings(except in special case to assist in synchronizing) because the solid field-poles themselves act as efficient dampers. It should be clearly understood that under normal running conditions, damper winding does not carry any current because rotor runs at synchronous speed. The damper winding also tents to maintain balanced 3-phase voltage under unbalanced load conditions.
The working principle of a turbo generator is that of forcing extremely hot condensed air into the piston chamber. The hot condensed air reduces the need for fuel.

If it is a turbo, it could be the turbo winding up. I had an Audi with 2.7 T engine that would whistle / whine when accelerating. You could have an air leak in the inlet manifold or plenum.
Depends on the set up. Is it a Naturally aspirated or turbo, or turbo with an aftercooler? And is it a Direct injection model, or a Natural Gas generator engine? In general the 3306 has as little as 95HP ( Nat Gas Gen Set), or as much as 350 ( Direct injection Turbo aftercooled).
monocoque turbo-generatordevice is provided that is capable of cooling and lubricating itself and providing a non-leaking magnetic drive system that maintains the leak proof integrity of the device. This may be accomplished using propellant gases of the turbine as they process through the monocoque chamber. The monocoque turbo-generator device may produce electricity within an enclosed leak proof capsule with accessories that allow the energy to be tapped from the outside of its monocoque casing.

You get geothermal energy by drilling into the ground, where you use the heat to make steam. the steam then powers a turbo generator, which makes energy to power homes.
The source of the thermal energy is obviously completely different, but the steam side, turbo-generator, etc is very similar.
Turbo = 1 turbo, Twin Turbo = 2 turbos
