Look in the user guide, or go on the maker's website for instructions.
I posted two disassembly guides on www.InsideMyLaptop.com First guide explains how to take apart an Acer Aspire 5100 and remove the motherboard. Second guide explains how to take apart the display panel and remove the LCD screen. This is only for experienced technicians. Proceed on your own risk. I'll attach two links in "Related Links".
Depending on the model there is several ways to restore your Acer. Acer machines for the consumer market running Windows 7 have a built in recovery tool named eRecovery, run it and it will guide you through the process. If one can not use this program for any reason one could use the DVD's following many PC's or the default Windows 7 Acer recovery boot button F8.
