have a pontiac 6000 2.5 motor and it wont stay running
To The Owner of the 1986 Pontiac 6000: I am the owner of two 1985 6000 STE's and my fuel filter is an inline filter on the right side of the car. It is about the size of a soda can. First, shut of power so when you remove the fuel filter, very little fuel will come spurting out. Next, after removing the old filter, plug in a new filter, then restore power. Most Sincerely, Kristopher Gerbracht www.kristopher.gerbracht@juno.com
Yes it is priming the system
Yes it MIGHT help in getting your hood unjammed. However, you really cant get the grill off without the hood being open. You can if you break it, but these grills are hard to replace on the 6000 as there arent many left. Another idea is to reach up from underneath and behind the bumper and see if you can reach the hood release. This might save you the trouble of destroying your grill.
The oil filter on a 1990 Pontiac 6000 is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment. It is on the side of the motor all the way to the rear, near the firewall.
It is back behind the distributor, where the distributor shaft goes into the intake.

You could call your local auto parts store and they should know the answer to that one
