Catholic AnswerThe sort of depends on what you mean by "find God." God can be found everywhere, He made all of creation, and all of creation sings His Glory. All human beings can pray - if they know how to pray and to whom to pray. God, in His infinite mercy and love, has given us priests to as His representatives on earth to preach the Good News to us, to bring God and His Grace to us in the Sacraments, in their preaching, and in their teaching. Bottom line, all humans, not just Catholics need priests to really find God. If it were not for the Mystical Body of Christ, which He, Himself, established as His Church on earth, we could not obtain salvation - that is what it is there for. If it were not for the priests and monks spending their entire lives making copies of The Bible for century after century, there would be no Bibles today. It Our Blessed Lord had not left us His Church and His priests, Christianity would have died out completely before the second century was half way through and there would be no Christianity today, and no hope of salvation. If it was not for the Bishops and priests of the Catholic Church there would have been no Church for the protestants to leave and protest against in the sixteenth century, and no Bible for them to change. Yes, Catholics need priests to find God, everyone is dependent on priests to find God, even if they don't realize that dependence, and even if they are not Catholics.Certainly, Catholics are required to intercede directly with God. The priest is there as God's chosen emissary. Normally, when God is speaking directly with a person, He is speaking through some means: the Bible, the priest, the Mass, etc.
Yes, but technically, we confess our sins to God through the priest.
Catholics have to go to the priest, and the priest prays to god on there behalf. Whereas pentecostal people pray directly to God.
The reason Catholics confess to a priest is because they claim that the priest is simply relaying what you said to God. But, even this statement is contradicting the Bible. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; There is only one "middle-man" between you and God, and that is the man Christ Jesus. So unless we put Catholicism in authority over what the Bible actually says, the Catholics are 100% wrong in the case of confessing their sins to a priest.
Catholics confess their sins to a priest because they believe it is a way to seek forgiveness from God and receive spiritual guidance and support. The priest acts as a mediator between the individual and God, offering absolution and helping the person to make amends for their sins. This practice is rooted in the belief that the priest has been given the authority to forgive sins by Jesus Christ.
Roman Catholic AnswerFirst of all, Catholics do not "go and pray to that Catholic priest" for forgiveness. They do go to confession to a priest and, if they are sincere, the priest absolves them from their sins, and gives them a penance. It is Our Blessed Lord who actually absolves the sin, through His priests. The reason that Catholics have to do this is because this is the way that God set it up for us. The protestant notion of asking God for forgiveness is okay as far as it goes, all Catholics do that everyday when they make their examen of conscience at the end of the day. But God further specified that to be forgiven, particularly from serious sin (mortal sin) one must go the priest. He mediated His forgiveness through His priests in the Old Testament and continues that in the New Testament.
Catholic AnswerTypes of Catholics? Your would have to be more specific. There are fervent Catholics, lukewarm Catholics, there are priests, religious, and laity. There are no real "types" of Catholics, there are just Catholics, they are all human beings in need of God's mercy who are trying to do God's will.

Whoever told you that was seriously mistaken It's a lie .
Catholics don't "need" religious symbols, but they can be very helpful in reminding you of God and keeping your thoughts on Him.
Protestants differed from Catholics by insisting on the "priesthood of all believers," which emphasized that all Christians have direct access to God without the need for a mediating priest. This belief challenged the Catholic Church's hierarchical structure and the unique authority of ordained priests. Protestants argued that individuals could interpret the Scriptures and have a personal relationship with God, thereby diminishing the priest's role as an exclusive spiritual intermediary.
No. Not every Catholic is called to the religious life or the priesthood. God calls some Catholics to the married life, and some Catholics serve the Church in the single life.
