Yes. They are all the same. Make sure they have two holes drilled in the rear journal, on the flat part. They are important to the oiling system. Some of the older roller cams, you have to use a brass distributer gear, and a cam button, if excessive spring pressure is neded. Also, remember that a cam will seem smaller, with more cubic inches, and vise versa.
The cams interchange.
I ground roller cams for Erson, that were up to .650 lift.
Chevy made several different versions of that engine. It would all depend upon what you are doing with the motor, and how it is built. Contact a camgrinder like, Crane cams, Competition cams, or, a local regrinder. They will help you. This is a critical decision, so, seek help.
If you are asking about backlash, the setting for a solid cam would be on the cam card. Hydraulic cams don't have backlash, they have pre-load, which is usually about 1/2 turn.
302 H.O. and 351 Windsor small block- 1,3,7,2,6,5,4,8 All other ford V-8's- 1,5,4,2,6,3,7,8 The only difference in an H.O. 302 and a non H.O. 302 internally is the camshaft. Just use the correct firing order for the cam you have. They will interchange. Just remember That ALL '85 and up H.O. cams are roller cams. '84 H.O. and most other 302 cams are not.
The stock rocker arm ratio for a Gen I Chevy small block is 1.5:1. The marine engines have the same rocker ratio, but use different cams and have bottom ends built to handle sustained RPMs.
both are same block, but the 5.8 has been bored for larger pistons. the cams will interchange but you must time engine to what ever cam u use so if you use 5 cam in 5.8 block, u must time to 5,
YES
Small block and big block fuel pumps and fuel pump rods are the same on all Chevy V8's up to the mid 1980's when fuel injection and new block designs started on the market. Please note that this does not include special cam motors (roller cams, etc) that do take a different (special) rod.

not really, the difference in cams is more like a van versus a camaro. if you just want it to run, any cam will do, but if you want it to haul a$$, gotta go aftermarket... crane cams is good. there is a difference between them, though they interchange, if you put a cam from a "k" code 350 5.7 in an old carbureted 350 pre 1987 , the mechanical fuel pump will not function hence there is no fuel pump lobe on those cams. and you will have to use a electric fuel pump.
