Yes, in Germany the Girl Guides earn promise badges, camp symbols, and activity badges.
Guias de Mexico or Guides of Mexico do the same kind of activities to earn badges that other Girl Guides and Girl Scout do. They go camping, including cooking over a campfire, participating in flag ceremonies, and learning how to set up tents, etc. Guides in Mexico also participate in activities to protect the environment, learn healthy eating, learn about poverty, care for others, and caring for animals. They visit various locations such as Our Cabana and the Chapultepec Park, an ecological park.
Because they earn them.
YES!!
Girl Scouts of the USA do not have a "must earn" requirement. Girls may earn as many or as few badges as they choose to earn. However, if they want to earn one of the Awards, they must earn which ever badges are required as part of earning that award. For example, currently (August 2011), girls must complete two Senior or Ambassador level Journeys or earn the Girl Scout Silver Award and complete on Senior or Ambassador Journey as part of the requirements for earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.
There are 112 badges available for earning in your Junior years. There is a variety of different badges, like ones for the Arts, Science, and other skills that are important for Girl Scouts to know. Note: New books for each level, "The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting", being released in September of 2011, will have new badges while keeping seven "Legacy Badges" for each level. The Legacy Badges will include Arts, Athlete, Citizen, Cook, First Aid, Naturalist, and Girl Scout Way.
Girl Scouting and Girl Guiding in France is pretty much like Girl Guides and Girl Scouts everywhere. They are concerned with community development and with intercultural relationships and learning about other religions. They work to build a system of values based on spiritual, social and personal principles. They are concerned about the environment and nature conservation.
The highest award a Girl Scout may earn in Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) is the Girl Scout Gold Award. The highest award an adult in GSUSA may receive is the Thanks Badge. For each level there is an award. It starts with Juniors who earn the Girl Scout Bronze Award, then the Cadettes earn the Girl Scout Silver Award. Then the Seniors/Ambassadors may earn the Girl Scout Gold Award. The process is very long but you know you helped your community and maybe even the world!
Girl Scouts do not call them "merit" badges. Girl Scouts earn badges and other awards. And yes, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) offers badges for various areas of the Arts such as painting, drawing, pottery, or comic artist.
This depends on your interests and the available badges. The best Girl Scout badge to earn is one that you are interested in and can complete by following the badge requirements. Many Girl Scouts like to start with on of the badges which covers learning about Girl Scouts - "The Girl Scout Way".
For GSUSA, you should either purchase or borrow a copy of the Cadette Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting. The requirements for all of the Girl Scout Cadette Badges are listed in that book. You can also earn badges by completing "Journeys". Again, you will need to buy or borrow the Journey books and complete the requirements listed in the books.
You earn badges from completing missions in Dizzywood.
Girl Guides are groups just for girls. They usually go on camping trips often, and they sell girl guide cookies to raise money for the company. They usually meet once a week, usually in the evening and do crafts or talk about issues. There is always a lot of time to play with the other kids. You can also earn badges for completing certain tasks. Some badges are for first aid, CPR, starting a camp fire, setting up a tent, etc. I was in girl guides for 10 years and I had a blast. I learned so much from it and I wish that I had gone longer. I highly recommend that you sign up for it.
