In my opinion and many others' opinions HP computers are "low quality" but if you still want an HP desk top computer I recommend the HP Compaq 8100 Elite. It's one of the best computers HP has to offer.
HP and Dell are currently the market share and quality leaders. You might also consider Lenovo but their quality may have slipped since IBM sold the company.
