When Dobby helped Harry Potter and his friends escape from the Malfoy Manor. He died at Shell Cottage, due to Bellatrix Lestrange's knife going through his chest.

In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows he saves Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Ollivander and Griphook from Malfoy Manor and died after being stabbed in the heart by Bellatrix Lestrange's knife.
